Pseudo-static internal stability analysis of geosynthetic-reinforced earth slopes using horizontal slices method

In this study, the well-established pseudo-static approach along with horizontal slices method (HSM) is employed to investigate seismic internal stability of geosynthetic-reinforced earth slopes. Previous simple HSM analyses were based on a primary assumption stating that normal inter-slice forces are exerted mid-length sections. However, simplifying could give rise substantial errors in calculation design parameters, specifically case high excitations or low soil strength parameters. To address deficiency, balancing moment considered as new variable account for corresponding eccentricity. current HSM, two sets unknown variables, including and shear failure surface, determined using well-known ? coefficient Mohr-Coulomb criterion. technique, traditional ‘5N-1? type analysis reduced robust rigorous ‘3N’ one same predictive capability.
